This is a common problem many of us experience. It is very frustrating when you cannot get your newsletters, important emails, or verification links via email; however, there is usually always a reason behind this.
Here we will detail some reasons why our emails may not be received on your end, and some steps you can use to check your emailing settings to try to get emails from us to appear in your inbox.
1. Check your spam filters or blacklists
Be sure to check your email inbox settings. It is common that some people's mailing settings may list our emails as spam and filter all the incoming emails from us. We advise you to please check with your mailing provider on how to check these settings, as they differ slightly from provider to provider.
In addition to the above, the email service you use may also have different tabs for certain types of emails coming into your inbox. For example, besides having the Primary mail tab Gmail also uses Social, Promotional tab, and Updates tabs.
If you are expecting to receive an email from us and you do not find that email in your primary mail in the Inbox, please check these various tabs as the email may have gone there.
2. Possible suppression or email blocks
Your email might be potentially blocked if you send too many requests and do not open any of our emails. Here at Coinmetro, we have encountered such circumstances where users did not receive their emails because our system suppressed their email account due to the emails never being opened by the user.
Be aware that providers value their desirability, and to ensure that they only send out messages to active inboxes, automatic systems of such may be in place.
3. Programs and software interference
If you have any anti-virus software or other third-party programs installed on your device that could potentially filter your email inbox, please make sure to check the settings of these programs and what criteria are set on them. This could be relevant for work computers, as they do have these systems in place more often to block unwanted messages or potential security issues.
These could also be marked if the message has attachments in it, suppressing the message, deleting it or both.
4. Mistakes or misspellings
We recommend that you always double-check the email address to ensure that it is the right one and to check that it has been spelt correctly. This is always a good rule of thumb and is the easiest way of ensuring that you can receive or send an email effectively.
5. Issues with the service provider
Sometimes, you may not receive emails to your email address due to your email provider due to some issues with your service provider. Should this be the case, we would advise you to please contact your email service provider so they can assist you further with this.
6. Full email inbox
If you have too many emails in your inbox, your email may bounce back to us and will therefore not be received on your end. We advise you to please check that you do not have too many emails in your inbox, and if necessary, please clear some emails from your inbox to make space.
