Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Setup

2-Factor Authentication (2FA) secures your account using unique, one-time generated codes. To add this to your account, an app such as Google Authenticator or Authy is required. You can set up 2-Factor Authentication for your Coinmetro account using one of the following apps:

How to Activate 2FA:

On Desktop

Click on either the menu icon (the coloured circle with your initials in the upper right-hand corner) or the sidebar on the left-hand side of your Coinmetro Dashboard, then click on Account.

On the Coinmetro Mobile App

Click on the profile sign in the top left-hand corner of your dashboard.

Then, from your account settings, select 'Security' and scroll down until you see '2-Factor Authentication'.

Under the 2-Factor Authentication section, click 'Setup New 2FA'. Ensure that you have downloaded a 2FA app and have it opened ready to scan your "Secret Key".

Then, either scan the QR code or enter the secret key on your 2FA app. To do this, you will need to open the app and click 'Add New Account', which will allow you to scan a barcode or a provided key. It's easiest to scan the barcode, but the key can be manually entered.

Once the account has been added to your app, press 'Verify 2-Factor Code' and enter the code that is generated inside your app. Once confirmed, your 2FA will be enabled.

Please make sure to save the barcode and the provided key, as this is necessary for recovery.

To move your 2FA from one device to another:

From the 2-Factor Authentication section, disable each of the actions that are enabled for 2FA. This will require entering a 2FA-generated code from your old device.

If you have lost your old device, you need to scan your previously generated barcode or input the generated key (the backup), on your new device. This will allow you to access your account from the new device.

Once each action is disabled, press 'Setup New 2FA' and simply follow the instructions on your new device to enable 2FA.
